What is Red light therapy ?
Red light therapy (RLT) is a treatment that uses low levels of red or near-infrared light to potentially aid in the healing of skin, muscle tissue, and other parts of the body. It’s also known by other names such as low-level laser therapy (LLLT), low-power laser therapy (LPLT), and photobiomodulation (PBM).
How Does Red Light Therapy Work? RLT works by exposing your skin to a lamp, device, or laser with a red light. The mitochondria in your cells — often referred to as the “power generators” of your cells — absorb this light and may produce more energy, which can help cells repair themselves and become healthier. This process is believed to spur healing in skin and muscle tissue.
Benefits :
Skin Health: It’s used to treat various skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, and rosacea.
Pain Relief: RLT has been explored for its potential to relieve pain, including chronic pain.
Wound Healing: There is evidence to suggest that RLT can accelerate the healing process of wounds.
Hair Growth: It might promote hair growth in conditions like androgenetic alopecia.
Improved Circulation: RLT may increase blood circulation to the tissues.
